The “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Conference on the Opportunity and Challenge of the Area of Accounting and Finance”, organized by Accounting Committee of Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation and Union of Associations of Professional Accountants of Macau, and co-organized by the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Macau (UM) was held in UM on Oct 27, 2017 successfully. The conference attracted about 600 experts and scholars, faculty members and students, as well as members of the general public.

Prof. Desmond Yuen, Head of Department of Accounting and Information Management in FBA, pointed out that the University will keep placing top priority in nurturing all-round students with professional competence that meet the society demand. During the conference, he also suggested to have some special tax policies for supporting the development of the Greater Bay Area.

The guests of the conference included Mr. CHUI Sai Cheong, Honorary President of Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation and President of Union of Associations of Professional Accountants of Macau; Mr. IONG Kong Leong, Consultant of Accounting Committee of Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation and Director of the Financial Services Bureau; Ms. CHEN Chuo, Vice Secretary of the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation; and other experts and scholars from various professional fields.
