The Summer Training Programme is part of the course GAHM 432-Convention and Hospitality Management Internship. It is designed to prepare students with the appropriate knowledge, professionalism and skills to embark their internships in year three. This year, 48 year two Convention and Hospitality Management Programme students, led by Dr. Matthew Yap, Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Gaming Management, attended five days of classes (27th June 2016 – 1st July 2016) at MGM Macau. The topics, taught by both MGM experts and Dr. Yap, included curriculum vitae and cover letter writing, job interviewing techniques, quality service delivery, spa and wellness, food and beverage service operations and management, hotel service operations and management, professional dress code, grooming and communication etiquette, convention sales, and attitude, personality and behaviour required by the service industry. The students and the University of Macau would like to take this opportunity to thank MGM Macau for the continuous support in organising and holding the Summer Training Programme for the second year.
